Job Summary:

Oversees and ensures the effective and efficient operations of the unit.  Plans, directs and implements marketing strategies to attain the unit’s profit and business targets.  Develops and maintains mutually beneficial business relationships with entrepreneurial clients belonging to the Middle Market by providing wholesale banking services including but not limited to corporate finance, investment banking, cash management, trade services, and structured finance.  Ensures a balance between good credit and risk management and account profitability as well as customer satisfaction.

 

Role Exposure:

  • Manages the overall quality and profitability of the loan portfolio as well as other collateral business in achieving the volume and income targets of the Division.
  • Establishes long-term objectives and formulates business strategies and marketing plans.
  • Provides Account Officers with volume and income targets and business development objectives.
  • Conducts regular client calls and plant visits, jointly with Account Officers, to establish and maintain good working relationship with the account as well as to obtain first-hand information of any development in the account.
  • Reviews all credit and loan proposals or memoranda to ensure proper packaging and risk assessment, order of presentation and context.
  • Ensures compliance of all documentation requirements relative to loan/credit approval.=
  • Monitors and ensures overall compliance with the Bank’s policies and procedures and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) circulars, letters and memoranda to minimize/eliminate operational lapses and ensures that any omission, fraudulent activities are immediately reported to the Office of the Controller.
  • Approves commercial credit and trade credit transactions within the prescribe level of authority granted.
  • Represents the Bank in syndicate meetings, creditors’ meeting, steering committee meetings and the like.
  • Ensures that the Bank’s policies and procedures are strictly adhered to in all respect, let alone deviations in the credit transaction duly approved by the proper body.
  • Together with the Account Officer and Division Head, ensures early remedial actions by close monitoring of past due loans or ensures preventive measures are undertaken for those with early signals of problems.
  • Provides technical support and mentors the Account Officer as part of their hands-on training during discussions or negotiations with existing and/or prospective clients.
  • Monitors the market movement and change of the clients’ needs, other bank strategies and development of the latest financial products.  Reports and informs such information to the relevant departments in charge and to Management and proposes development of new products.
  • Coordinates closely with the other units in the Bank regarding the unit’s works to ensure smooth flow of transactions.
  • Conducts surprise checking on the activities of the officers and rank and file.
  • Performs other related functions that may be assigned from time to time.
