CBS - VENDOR SALES OFFICER

Job Summary:

Vendor Sales Officer is responsible for managing and supporting merchant acquisition activities handled through third-party vendors. This role ensures that merchant applications submitted by vendors are accurately processed, compliant with internal policies and meet business targets. VSO will act as a key liaison between the Merchant Acquiring Team and its accredited vendors to drive growth, ensure service quality and maintain compliance standards.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supports strategic plans based on growing revenue, sales, market share and productivity across the Merchant Acquiring business, specifically managing accredited Merchant Service Providers / Third Party Sales Organizations / Aggregators.
  • Brings on books strategic Merchant Service Providers / Third Party Sales Organizations / Aggregators and merchant partners with a view of growing the Acquiring business and increasing MCC’s market share in the industry.
  • Provides periodic visitation, MCC policy training, coaching, and guidance to enable independent sales organization(s) et al to meet agreed goals and ensure continuous review of their contribution in line with KRAs.
    • A typical independent sales organization has 5 to 30 sales agents.
    • Monthly referrals per independent sales organization projected to average at 20 a month.
  • Process referred accounts by independent sales organizations in timely and consistent manner.
  • Maintains and prepares periodic sales reporting and commission payouts.
  • Develop and implement various strategies to improve POS and portfolio productivity.
  • Identifies and implements potential process/service enhancements with accredited Merchant Service Providers / Third Party Sales Organizations and escalate as necessary.
  • Provides performance updates and progress reports of their teams in a timely manner.
  • Ensures all concerns, issues and/requests of the key contacts are addressed on a timely and accurate manner.
  • Conducts merchant visitations, outbound calls and extending customer service activities with a view of establishing rapport with merchants and resolving issues.
  • Builds, develops and utilize relationships with key areas within MCC and the Metrobank Group to grow the Acquiring business.
  • Proficient in and may implement Point-Of-Sale (POS) product upgrades from a device hardware, software and communications perspective.
  • Coordinates with different business units to provide immediate feedback to key contacts.

 

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a college/university
  • Has at least 2 years of solid experience from the Banking industry to have broad understanding of the business preferably within the merchant acquiring business
  • Ability to work autonomously with integrity
  • Demonstrates initiative with an ability to influence and negotiate win/win outcomes                                                                                                                        
  • Have a background in business analysis with some project management experience
  • Willingness to explore opportunities within the business and have the ability to articulate these opportunities to upper management
  • Must have working knowledge of MS Office applications (MS Excel, Work, and PowerPoint)
  • Must be detail oriented with superior follow through capabilities
  • Experience in acquiring technology preferred
