HEAD, SHARED SERVICES DEPARTMENT

Job Summary

 

The Shared Services Head takes overall accountability for managing the concept-to-service pipeline, and ensuring the completion of the different phases and appropriate progression through these phases.
Also accountable for identifying and securing appropriate stakeholder support, and the required environments (policy, process, tech) to support the service delivery throughout the phases.

 

Specific Duties & Responsibilities: 

 

  • Baseline Scope and Change Control: Maintain consistency between the baseline scope and estimate by following an agreed and documented change control process and attending the end-to-end Product Owners meeting.
  • Estimating: Revalidate the estimates and overall assessment results at key transition points in the development lifecycle vis-à-vis release goals, and per-phase assessment (vs desirability-feasibility-viability model).
  • Standardization: Perform the work in accordance with Platform 11 Methods.
  • Status Reporting: Provide standardized status reports every period, managing risks and issues, communicating across the leadership team, and escalating where necessary.
  • QA Process: Ensure adherence to established policies and participate in Delivery QA reviews and resolve all critical actions to the agreed timelines.
  • Transparency and Communications: Collaborate with the Division Head to understand the financial objectives of the overall engagement, and share this understanding with the delivery team.
  • Shared Objectives: Understand the client expectations, and participate in appropriate steering committee and status reviews with relevant stakeholders. Develop with the rest of the management team a shared set of objectives and expectations that enables successful partnership between the teams
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned from time to time
  • Serve as change agent by introducing best practices of P11 to enterprise

 

Qualifications: 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Studies / Administration / Management, Commerce, Finance / Accountancy / Banking
  • Eight or more years of management experience specializing in Project and Program Management, Business Requirements Analysis, Software Quality Asusrance and Production/Product Support
  • Competency in people development, engagement, mentoring and with an ability to inspire others
  • Demonstrated leadership skills; be able to evaluate opportunities, develop, and implement performance improvement efforts
  • Ability to maintain a collaborative work attitude in a high pressure, fast-paced and complex environment
  • Solid experience in Agile implementation, software and or product development for an organization with high business criticality and large number of application users
  • A self-starter who takes initiative, can work without supervision and begin projects independently, embrace challenges, sets high standards, focuses on successful outcomes and promotes teamwork.
  • A fast learner that can come up with several solutions to solve a problem and will analyze to quickly to determine the best course of action.
