Visual Designer

Duties and Responsibilities

1. The Visual Designer is responsible for the creation of visual elements for Digital Banking Division products.

2. The Visual Designer works closely with a cross-functional team from product, interaction design, and marketing to create a strong visual identity for our products that is cohesive across the experience, aesthetically appealing, and aligned with the brand.

JOB SUMMARY

The Visual Designer is responsible for the creation of visual elements for Digital Banking Division products, with a primary focus on Earnest. The Visual Designer works closely with a cross-functional team from product, interaction design, and marketing to create a strong visual identity for our products that is cohesive across the experience, aesthetically appealing, and aligned with the brand.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the design and execution of product illustrations and other visual elements that enhance the experience of our customers.
  • Create support visuals for Earnest’s financial education website
  • Develop marketing materials that reinforce the brand’s style and voice through visual touchpoints
  • Ensure that designed product elements or marketing materials adhere to the brand guidelines, and be able to build on the guidelines where appropriate
  • Partner with Product Owners and Interaction Designers to define the visual identity of the assigned products and ensure cohesion of visual elements across the end-to-end experience
  • Collaborate well with the cross-functional team from research, design, engineering, and marketing to deliver requirements in a timely manner
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
  • Serve as change agent by introducing best practices of the Digital Banking Division to enterprise


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Work experience as a graphic or visual designer or similar role.
  • Deep understanding of visual design standard, typography, iconography, and colors
  • Experience in using image editing and digital sketching software (e.g. Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS, JavaScript is a plus
  • Experience in designing for mobile apps and/or websites
  • Has a compelling portfolio of related work
  • Able to create visualizations either by hand or with software
  • Excellent visual, written, and verbal communication skills, and able to clearly communicate the reasoning behind design choices
  • Proactive, self-starter, with a high degree of organization and personal accountability
  • Detail-oriented
