Position Title              Compliance Specialist ( AP Department)

Job Summary

The Compliance Specialist (CS) assists the AP in ensuring oversight and compliance of different units involved in Treasury and Broker Dealer Activities of the Bank with relevant laws, rules and regulations, consistent with the industry’s code of ethics.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Compliance Program/Plan

 

  • Identifies Philippines’ laws, rules and regulations applicable to Treasury and Broker Dealer Activities of the Bank, maintains a database, and analyzes corresponding compliance risks;

 

  • Assists the AP in the periodic update and/or review of Written Supervisory and Control Procedure (WSP), Chinese Wall Annual Report and AP related policies

Constructive Working Relationship with Regulatory Agencies

 

  • Assists the AP in coordinating various regulatory requirements, such as special/ad-hoc (non-periodic) information and other requirements:
      • Provides assistance in the preparation of various communications with regulators on compliance issues; filing of various application/reports and evaluation of the completeness of required reports/supporting documents
      • Consults regulators for clarifications on borderline situations, as need arises.

 

Communication & Training

 

  • Renders advisory service on compliance matters affecting Treasury and broker-dealer Activities;

 

  • Assists the AP during meetings to discuss compliance issues/concerns; shares information on relevant regulatory issuances; reviews agenda & discussion/presentation materials and minutes of meetings

 

  • Assists in the preparation of Compliance training materials/learning tools and conducts lectures when requested;

Monitoring & Assessment

  • Coordinates with authorized officers of Treasury/TOSD and other bank units in responding to regulators’ queries, complaints, surveys, etc.;
  • Perform the preparation of monthly sworn written certification for submission to PDEX, and validates compliance of daily trade transactions;
  • Monitors compliance to regulatory requirements thru spot audit and testing on the Bank’s dealings with its clients/customers, ensuring oversight that security trading practices are conducted with integrity and in full compliance with relevant laws, rules and regulations, consistent with the industry’s code of ethics;

Reporting

  • Assists the AP in the preparation of reports/materials for to SM, CGCC and Board, and other Bank committees, as needed;

Administrative

  • Performs other related functions that may be assigned from time to time.
