Supervise - Deployment Officer/Apprentice

 

               

Job Summary    

The Deployment Officer works under the direction of the DAD Head/Section Head and is responsible for the following:

 

  • Implementing changes to the automated job scheduling systems, and/or batch scripts, and synchronizing data center operations procedures to be consistent with these changes.
  • Implementing changes to the systems integration test, users acceptance test and production environments in a controlled manner. 

 

Specific Duties & Responsibilities             

  • Migrates approved application system changes to the systems integration test, users acceptance test and production environments in a controlled manner, using automated change control facilities and/or manual controls, e.g. check sums and time stamps.
  • Renders systems integration test, users acceptance test and production system support.
  • Involved in setting-up and maintaining test environments.
  • Executes batch processes of the systems integration and users acceptance test environments.
  • Resolves simple batch processing problems where possible, and refers application system issues to applications managers.
  • Maintains the automated job scheduling system and/or batch scripts, and the data center operating procedures based on approved implementation documents.
  • Revises automated job schedules and batch scripts entering commands for changes (e.g. job names, JCL, SCL, event names, member names) into the scheduling software.
  • Maintains data center operating procedures and checklists to be consistent with the changes to the automated job scheduling software.
  • Assists in determining the impact of the proposed job and schedule changes, recommended by the application development teams, to the current processes.
  • Participates in planned and unplanned disaster recovery activities.
  • If assigned, assists in the administration of software/source management systems.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned from time to time.      

Job Summary:

  • Responsible for implementing changes to the automated job scheduling systems, and/or batch scripts, and synchronizing data center operations procedures to be consistent with these changes.
  • Also responsible for implementing changes to the systems integration test, users acceptance test, and production environments in a controlled manner.

 

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in Deployment and Automation.
  • Experience with Report Management System (RMS) Mantissa, CA7 Job Scheduler, Time Sharing Option (TSO), Job Control Language, CA-Librarian, 3270, ISPF
