Position Title: Head, Investment Analysis Department

 

Job Summary: 

Responsible for supporting the growth of TBG business by providing thorough evaluation of trust investments, as well as counterparties, and brokers, to enable sound decision-making by the clients and asset managers.  Expected to deliver investment-related insights to help TBG clients attain their investment objectives.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the goals and objectives of TBG, ISD and IAD are cascaded to the Investment Analysts and incorporated in the department’s plans.
  • Supervises Investment Analysts in achieving the team’s objectives.
  • Conducts due diligence on prospective and existing fixed income issuances, collective investment schemes, and other assets under trust, through initial financial screening (First Pass), investment evaluation, and summary Investment Digest, as applicable.
  • Conducts review of counterparties, brokers, fixed income issuers, and collective investment schemes with approved lines and limits at least annually or earlier, as needed.  
  • Prepares internal credit/investment risk ratings for the different covered investment securities, and flags deterioration in investment quality.
  • Provides insights on current and potential offshore collective investment outlets for model portfolio and framework construction, to aid in decision-making for clients’ discretionary global portfolios. 
  • Monitors credit database and documentary deficiencies in relation to financial documents.
  • Ensures that investment evaluation policies, procedures, and desk manual are up to date and accurately reflects the team’s processes.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership and team supervision skills in managing Investment Analysts
  • Extensive experience in fixed income, collective investment schemes, and other trust assets evaluation
  • Proven ability to conduct due diligence, financial screening, and investment analysis
  • Skilled in credit assessment and internal risk rating of investment securities
  • Experienced in reviewing counterparties, issuers, brokers, and investment limits compliance
  • Knowledgeable in offshore investment opportunities and portfolio strategy development
  • Strong attention to detail in monitoring credit databases and documentation completeness
  • Ability to align team objectives with organizational goals and strategic plans
  • Well-versed in maintaining and updating investment policies, procedures, and manuals
