Job Summary:
Conducts due diligence on existing and prospective issuers and investments, including credit evaluation of fixed income, valuation of equities, and preparation of internal risk ratings. Performs annual reviews of accredited counterparties and brokers. Prepares analysis of the local equity markets, with focus on listed stocks and industry prospects, as well as global sectors to aid in the development of investment strategies and decision-making for clients and partner units.
Job Description:
Evaluation and Analysis of Issuers and Investment Outlets
• Conducts investment evaluation, including financial analysis and valuation, on existing and prospective fixed income and equity issuers, both local and global, which serves as basis for investment proposals
• Prepares investment evaluation of other prospective assets under trust such as INMES and Real Estate Properties, for approval by the Trust Committee
• Releases Investment Reports on upcoming fixed income and equity issuances for client use
Monitoring of Investments, Counterparties and Brokers
• Conducts a comprehensive annual review of fixed income and equity issuers (including INMES), as well as annual financial review of equity brokers as an input in the Broker Ranking System
• Generates internal credit and equity risk ratings for both accredited and client-directed issuers to ensure investments of clients are within acceptable standards
• Conducts annual financial review of accredited counterparties and equity brokers to help mitigate risks in executing trade transactions and ensure going concern
• Monitors and flags deteriorated fixed income and equity investments under trust to provide investors with ample time to liquidate as needed
Investment Advisory for Strategy Formulation
• Reports on the local equities market, including industry & company-specific research, employing fundamental & technical analysis, for use in decision-making for clients with equity mandates
• Provides insights and market calls for equity model portfolio and framework construction, to aid portfolio managers in strategy formulation for discretionary mandates
• Coverage extends to the select US and global direct equity investments, in line with client-directed requirements
• Attends company briefings and maintains regular correspondence with covered companies to remain updated with recent developments and to gather insights for investment recommendations
• Addresses ad hoc requests from TBG partners, such as creating special reports on specific sectors or compelling issues that have wide market implications
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting or any related field
• At least 3 years relevant experience in credit/financial analysis, investment/equity research or asset management
• Certifications for SEC Fixed Income Market Salesman, Trust Operations and Investments, UITF Sales Personnel and Treasury are a plus; otherwise they may eventually be required
• CFA Charter or MBA degree also an advantage
• Good analytical and numeracy skills, as well as effective written and verbal communication skills
