Position Title: Policy Specialist

 

Job Summary:

  • Ensures that all procedure circulars and advisories to be released shall provide branches relevant and clear guidelines on branch processes. Reviews and evaluates existing policies and procedures with impact on branch processes and be able to recommend changes if necessary considering management directions and initiatives.
  • Reviews and evaluate policies and procedures with significant and critical impact to branch processes initiated by various Business Units (BU) and ensure that the guidelines are efficient and clear to the branches.
  • Develop policies and procedures affecting branch processes based on proposals from Branch Banking/other Business Units and ensure that these are aligned with existing regulatory requirements, control standards and are easy to operationalize at branches.
  • Maintain and update the Branch Banking Policies and Procedures based on recent policy issuances and policy gaps escalated by branches and other stakeholders.

 

Role Exposure:

  • Opportunity to initiate/contribute to the bankwide innovation through policy development;
  • Exposure to institutional level analytics and decision making;
  • Engagement with other business units to assist in improving their policy and procedures and strategically aligning these with the bank’s enterprise plan;
  • Develop and review and propose solutions for any concerns or recommendations impacting branch processes, consult different stakeholders to develop, enhance and implement policy.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any field.
  • Experience and expertise in retail banking/branch banking operations
  • Proficient in MS Office – Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Strong working knowledge of the relevant banking regulations set forth by BSP
  • Advanced level of verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced level of organizational skills, attention to details and;
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with business stakeholders of varying seniority levels is an advantage
