Position Title: Business Analyst

 

Job Summary:

  • Is responsible for designing and gathering user’s business requirements and communicates the functional specifications to the DW team for data availability, logic formulation and programming; and provides the necessary support in delivering the information requirements of the business units.

Role Exposure:

  • Gathers end-user specifications, formulates questions for interview to determine data requirements and conduct user interviews
  • Translates the user requirements into a functional specification document so that the derived information is understood in its business context.
  • Coordinates with the COG-DQD on the availability and/or acquisition of users’ data requirements.
  • Prepares Enhancement Request documents for additional information and/or revisions to the reports requested by users.
  • Ensures that accomplished projects are migrated to production on time.
  • Conducts tests and presentation of sample reports to the requesting units as needed.
  • Submits approved Functional Specifications to and coordinates with SRDD / programmers in the development of the reports.
  • Prepares test scripts to be used in the User Acceptance Test (UAT) and prepares appropriate documents for problems/errors encountered.
  • Provides the necessary support to the UAT team to ensure that the user-specifications are in order.
  • Refers the problems/errors to the SRDD / programmers and escalates issues to the Department Head.
  • Develops query scripts to identify program/logic errors and data deficiency.
  • Assists users in the use of data query tool and in the in-depth analysis of the data available to them or the tool installed in their computer if any.
  • Assists the DQD- Quality Assurance Specialist in the resolution of data errors and other data issues.
  • Monitors status and updates the Department Head of the percentage of completion of the project.
  • Performs other related functions that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Required Training
  • At least one programming language or taken subject in Program Logic Formulation
  • Structured Systems Analysis and Design
  • Oracle Program Language/Standard Query Language (PL/SQL)
  • Oracle Discoverer
