Position Title: Cloud Engineer
Job Summary:
Works under the supervision of the Cloud Solutions Head. The cloud engineer is generally responsible for the setup and configuration of the cloud environment. He also leads the implementation of the approved cloud application solutions. He is expected to liaise with different project teams, system developers, DevOps team and other cloud stakeholders with regards to their cloud requirements. He may have one or more specializations in either computing, networking or security in the cloud.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the planning, preparation, and creation of infra- as- a-code scripts to be use in the provisioning and maintenance of the bank’s Cloud infrastructure.
- Setup and configures the cloud environment for the developers and DevOps team.
- Provides technical expertise on cloud deployment activities.
- Coordinates with on premise teams (infra, system administrators, network, security) to ensure network connectivity and compliance to set standards.
- Good working knowledge of essential cloud services – containers, serverless compute, AI services and infrastructure
- Liaises with 3rd party vendors to ensure correct configuration and deployment of projects in the cloud.
- Participates in cloud architecture review meetings, helps in the review of proposed cloud architectures and provides insights to enhance the design.
- Keeps updated with the new technologies and services offered by the cloud service providers
- Performs other related functions that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, administration, or engineering.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform).
- Strong knowledge of cloud architecture, deployment, and operational support.
- Experience with Linux and/or Windows Server administration.
- Proficiency in scripting or automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python, or Bash).
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and firewalls.
- Experience with cloud security best practices, identity and access management (IAM), and access controls.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
