Position Title: Collateral Securities Assistant  

 

Job Summary: 

 

The Assistant will support the Head and Collateral Securities Officer in the active management of the functions of safekeeping and custodianship of collateral documents

 

Role Exposure:

 

  • Conducts initial review and ensures the completeness of the following against the approval media and collateral documents prior to the signature of the SMU Head or Collateral Securities Officer:

 

  • Securities In Receipt (SIR)
  • Securities Out Receipt (SOR)
  • Request to Borrow (RTB)

 

  • Properly files and safekeeps the collateral documents inside the vault and maintains cleanliness of the vault area assigned to SMU.
  • Informs the Head and Collateral Securities Officer of incoming and outgoing collateral documents for recording and monitoring on the collateral inventory database of items submitted as collateral, for safekeeping and/or release of collateral.
  • Scans all collateral documents received prior to filing it inside the vault.
  • Retrieves collateral documents inside the vault for presentation to internal users (Internal Audit, Risk Management, etc.) as well as to regulating and examining bodies (BSP, SGV, etc.), and ensures that these collateral documents will be returned inside the vault within the day.
  • Assists in the periodic archiving and transmittal of SORs and its supporting documents to Records Management Department in order to maximize the vault space
  • Prepares the required monthly reports on inventory of collateral documents and prepares backup copies.

 

  • Performs other functions that may be assigned to them from time to time.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of any Business-related courses, preferably Economics, Accounting or Finance (Fresh Graduates)
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Must have a pro-active approach to problem solving and the ability to meet tight deadlines
