Position Title: Credit Review Officer - Markets, Wealth and Product Solutions

 

Job Summary:

A Credit Review Officer is responsible for assessing and recommending credit decisions for simple to complex credit proposals, including individual, SME, and large corporate business borrowers. The role focuses on financial analysis, credit scoring, and holistic credit risk assessment, ensuring that credit applications meet the Bank’s lending standards and risk parameters. Success in this role will be measured by achieving the following key outcomes:

1. Initial Credit Decisions: Provide accurate and timely evaluations of straightforward credit applications, minimizing default risk.

2. Credit Processing: Ensure credit proposals are complete, well-documented, and processed within agreed timelines.

3. Credit Recommendations: Maintain consistency with internal credit policies and regulatory requirements for all evaluated accounts.

Role Exposure:

1. Credit Assessment and Proposal Preparation:

  • Prepares ERCA for credit onboarding and renewals, ensuring alignment with policy and SLA timelines.
  • Validates financial data and completes financial reconstruction or recasting, and projections, to support sound credit decisions.

2. Risk Evaluation and Credit Structuring:

  • Evaluate credit risk for simple to complex accounts, with compliance to standard credit accommodations.
  • Apply credit scoring models and financial analysis to determine repayment capacity.
  • Appropriately assess credit risk ratings and classifications and demonstrates strict compliance to documentation and Bank policies.

3. Coordination and Documentation:

  • Work with Relationship Managers to gather necessary documentation and clarify borrower details.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of credit files for audit and review.

4. Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Monitor approved accounts periodically and flag early warning signals.
  • Maintain records of work metrics and ensure timely completion of reviews.
  • Performs effective portfolio management, recognizes potential issues that requires immediate action or escalation.

5. Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall success of the Bank.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of Accountancy, Accounting Management, Math, Statistics, Financial Management or Economics
  • Strong analytical skills and adept in re-construction and interpreting financial statements
  • Ability to identify risks on the borrower and credit proposals
  • Strong work ethic and a high level of personal and professional integrity.
  • An effective communicator with strong oral, written, and effective presentation skills.
  • Computer literate, with high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as word, excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Completion of reports related to the handled credit portfolio
