Position Title: Credit Risk Officer
Job Summary:
- Plans, designs and directs comprehensive credit review plans to determine the adequacy, efficiency and effectiveness of key credit controls at the Bank’s various lending units. Independently validates the classification and risk rating of sampled accounts. Recommends appropriate monitoring strategies and action plans on high-risk accounts. Reports findings and recommendations to line and senior management.
Role Exposure:
- Plans, designs and directs a comprehensive credit review plan of the Bank’s various lending units. This includes preparation of preliminary credit review strategies and portfolio risk profile, and identification of areas of specific concern and accounts for review based on sampling rationale.
- Provides an independent assessment of a lending unit’s adherence to the Bank’s credit policies and procedures and identifies any deficiencies and findings on key control areas such as portfolio quality, credit initiation and underwriting, and problem recognition and remedial management.
- Independently validates the risk rating/classification assigned to sampled accounts and assigns appropriate risk rating/classification based on material developments and credit factors.
- Recommends appropriate monitoring strategies and action plans on sampled accounts that are considered high risk. These include plans that are in accordance with the Bank’s guidelines.
- Reports the remaining deficiencies, findings, the credit review rating as well as the recommendations to senior and line management and to other stakeholders.
- Evaluates request for change of account classification submitted by the lending unit and assigns appropriate risk rating/classification based on material developments and credit factors.
- Performs other related functions that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or Accounting courses.
- Minimum of two (2) years in consumer banking operations, credit risk management.
