Position Title: Custody Operations Officer

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensures timely, complete and accurate implementation of all securities transaction of the Trust Banking Group (TBG) and ensures that they are adequately supported by the necessary documents.
  • Ensures for the proper safekeeping of securities in the depository and movements are accounted for.

 

Settlement:

  • Upload/encode and validate transactions for the day
  • Ensure required documents are submitted prior to settlement
  • Pre-match trades with counterparty/dealer
  • Settle trades with the depository
  • Process trades in the Custody and Registry System (CRS)
  • Collection of trust fees and charges on coupon/interest/maturity

 

Corporate Action:

  • Checks in the depository CA events for the day
  • For involuntary CA (1) record date -notify dealer (2) check and reconcile records on ex -date (3) and confirm remittances on payment date
  • Upon sight of funds, remit the proceeds of the CA (e.g. interest, coupon, maturity) to the dealer’s settlement account (Note: Dealer to further credit account of individual clients)
  • For voluntary CA – notify dealers of the said event and required action and deadline. Upon receipt of instruction from dealer/client
  • Process in depository
  • Upon confirmation of depository, process in the CRS to reflect in the individual

 

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • With at least 3-5 years of relevant experience in banking and financial industry, specifically in Treasury or Trust, and a background in custody operations
  • With good understanding of banking operations and governing laws and regulations
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, ability to multi-task with great follow-up skills
  • Amenable to work in a fast-paced, competitive environment
  • Willing to work in BGC
