Position Title: Deputy Head, Trade Finance Operations Division

Job Description:

• Responsible for the overall management of the trade processes, infrastructure and resources to ensure efficient delivery of trade products and services, based on the agreed timelines with clients and business partners, and within the bounds of the internal policies, external bank regulations (i.e. BSP) and various International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) trade guidelines
• Represent the Bank in the commercial banking industry, government agencies, as well as in private agencies and organizations, on matters and issues related to trade transactions.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensures the optimal utilization of bank resources in the efficient and timely delivery of various trade products and services of the bank while adhering to AMLA and internal policies at all times
• Reviews, updates and align the policies and procedures of the Bank to industry best practices, local regulations and international rules, and ensures its consistent implementation across all servicing units and hubs.
• Determines best course of actions to undertake on technical or operational issues and concerns without compromising on any internal controls, policies and guidelines
• Provides technical know-how to client facing partners (i.e. IBS / Branches) and internal partners on all trade related matters
• Oversees the development and implementation of appropriate control procedures to ensure its effectiveness in removing costly errors, and reworks, to safeguard bank’s franchise from complaints and possible legal proceedings.
• Synergizes and align with the IBS business  units by providing timely update direction of TFOD; and  participates in joint client calls ; including providing  trade workshops to clients, to promote product knowledge and address client concerns.
• Assists Business Systems Division in the preparation of the Bank’s Manual of Policies and Procedures for other units for transactions related to trade products.
• Acts as resource speaker for special training/ seminars conducted by the Bank relative to trade products and services.
• Performs other related functions that may be assigned from time to time.
