Position Title: Fraud Prevention and Advisory Officer

Job Summary:

The Fraud Prevention and Advisory Officer shall assist the Fraud Prevention, Quality Assurance and Administrative Department (FPQAAD) Head in

  • Establishing and implementing enterprise fraud prevention strategies of the Bank to ensure the business maintains its fraud thresholds to a minimum if not totally prevented.
  • Conducting review of the fraud risks and controls of the products, channels and services and recommends control to eliminate or reduce fraud through process reengineering.
  • Establishing as enterprise fraud awareness program for internal and external customers across retail and corporate segments in the form of training and customer education materials such as webinars, direct mailers and social media postings, among others.
  • Reviews and recommends policy or procedural changes and recommends fraud risk controls to eliminate or reduce fraud.
  • Ensure the Division complies with regulatory requirements, regularize audit findings and other administrative requirements.

 

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conducts review of the internal and external fraud risk and control mitigation process of the business and support units’ fraud validation as declared in their RSK Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and recommend enhancements to implement measures to eliminate or reduce fraud through process reengineering.
  • Conducts review of the fraud risk control and mitigation processes of the Business Units (BUs) as declared in their Fraud Risk and Control Self – Assessment’s (FRCSA’s) and recommend enhancements to implement measures to eliminate or reduce fraud through process reengineering.
  • Monitors regularly the action plans and committed target dates for risk items with required Treatment Plans.
  • Provides assistance to the business and support units in identifying and assessing fraud risk inherent in products, activities, processes and systems, newly-formulated policies, procedures, guidelines, MOPP, etc.  of the Bank to ensure that all fraud risks are adequately mitigated.
  • Recommends policy or procedural changes in light of analyzed trends and systemic problems to prevent further fraud exposures.
  • Coordinates with FMD Departments to identify patterns and trends to prevent future frauds by fine tuning fraud prevention strategies and controls.
  • Liaises with other units of the Bank on their fraud risk management plans and practices involving policies and procedures. Recommends appropriate policies and procedures relating to fraud risk management and controls.
  • Fraud Awareness
  • Assists the FPQAAD Head in establishing a Fraud Awareness program for internal and external customers.
  • Assists the FPQAAD Head in developing training materials/fraud risk awareness program (e.g. e-learning modules, broadcast   materials, focus group discussion, trainings, and classroom type seminars) to institutionalize a fraud risk conscious environment.
  • Assists the FPQAAD Head in conducting fraud risk awareness training.
  • Assists the FPQAAD Head in promoting fraud risk awareness and culture across the Bank and recommend best practices on the daily operations of the units in managing their fraud risks.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Accounting, Economics, or other related fields.
  • Must have at least 1 year of work experience in the banking industry or at least 2 years in a non-banking industry or a relevant and related field of work.
  • Must have exposure in various functions in a bank preferably with commercial, business risk management or branch banking experience.
  • Strong problem solving skills to address issues and identify mitigated actions.
  • Must be creative and with good analytical skills.
  • Must be willing to extend hours or report to work when required by the Business.
