HEAD, COMMERCIAL CREDIT DIVISION - CENTRAL METRO MANILA II
Job Summary:
Plans, supervises and directs activities of the division among which include: evaluation of credit proposals coming from Marketing Group, domestic and International branches & subsidiaries & ensure compliance with internal and external (BSP) policies and validation/correction of financial spreadsheets prepared lending units for the Default Filter.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Handles 2nd tier evaluation of Marketing Divisions 1-3, Visayas branches, MM 3, 12, 13 & 14, Int'l branches, Plaza Cervantes, QC Rotonda Ctr., Downtown Center & Ayala Center.
- Ensures that credit assessments are done according to the quality standards of the Bank.
- Ensures that the Credit Review and Portfolio Manager, Credit Review Officer, and Credit Evaluators are well trained and equipped to perform quality credit assessments.
- Ensures effective performance management and people development
- Ensures that related credit monitoring are done in a timely manner, including but not limited to monitoring and assessing of financial and business performance on a periodic basis for challenged credits
- Ensures that credit risk rating and classification are appropriate and relevant at all times
- Stays on top of the credit portfolio; perform necessary credit calls with IBS partners
- Ensures timely hiring of talent, talent retention, and effective performance management.
- Manage performance of the CSU - CREAD
- Prepares queries to Law Division, Operations Group etc. relative to proposals being evaluated.
- Initiates policy queries/review/amendments to Operations Committee (OPCom/ Business Systems Division.
- Checks/supervises preparation of Summary of Accounts for Board Confirmation Secretary, Head Office Credit Committee (H.O. Crecom) and supervises preparation of weekly agenda, minutes & notification of the members. Prepares memos to censure lending units of recurring violations.
- Certifies approvals of Designated Senior Officers, President & Head Office Credit Committee (CreCom) Secretariat and Non-Performing Assets Committee (NPAC).
- Ensures that members & lending units tasked to report to NPAC are properly notified & their proposals are included in the agenda for deliberation Budget Officer for Credit Group.
- Prepares inputs for ALCO & breakfast meetings.
- Affixes final signature (together with the Group Head or Asset. Group Head) on confirmation of credit lines certifications and standby letters of credit issued by lending units terms and conditions of credit approvals as well as internal (Metrobank) and external (Bangko Sentral- BSP) policies and procedures.
- Performs other related functions that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree from a college/university, preferably a graduate of Business course.
- At least 10 years experience in middle market - commercial lending.
- At least 3 years equivalent experience leading a team.
- Proficiency in spoken and written Chinese is preferred.
