Position Title: Head, Tax Management Department

Job Summary:

• Recommends to Management, through the Controller, alternative tax accounting methods /procedures in order to appropriately determine the Bank’s tax liability and to mitigate tax exposures and/or maximize possible tax benefits. Acts as liaison with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), external consultants, auditors and legal counsels with respect to activities within the scope of responsibilities.

Role Exposure:

• Recommends to Management, through the Controller, legally permissible alternative tax accounting methods /procedures in order to appropriately determine the Bank’s tax liability and to mitigate tax exposures and/or maximize possible tax benefits.
• Reviews the Bank’s tax position and recommends alternatives to improve the situation to the advantage of the Bank.
• Provides timely information on changes in tax laws and new tax issues affecting the banking industry.
• Oversees the accurate and timely remittance of the Bank's own tax liabilities.
• Acts as liaison with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), external tax consultants, external auditors and legal counsels with respect to activities within the scope of responsibilities.
• Performs other related functions that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications:

• Must be a CPA Lawyer from banking industry or auditing firms
• Strictly with people management experience
