Position Title: Operational Risk Officer
Job Summary:
- To assist in the development and management of strategies in controlling risks resulting to inadequate and failed internal processes, people and systems or from external events.
Role Exposure:
- Provides inputs in the design and implements risk practices, standards, technologies and policies for managing operational risk.
- Reviews and provide inputs to update as applicable the operational risk documentation (e.g. ORMF, Operational Risk Tools policies and procedures etc.)
- Monitors efficient implementation of prescribed Operational Risk Management standards and tools. Elevate issues emanating from deficient execution or non-compliance to set standards.
- For commercial and retail operational risk management team, participates through continuous review of and providing inputs on the adequacy of existing operational controls documented in the policies and processes in handling commercial and retail segments, products and channels to mitigate operational risk
- For commercial and retail operational risk management team, assists in the participation of the division in managing high-risk strategic projects, products and channel of commercial and retail segment in relation to policies or issues on operational risk.
- Assist in the conduct of trainings and coaching on ORMF and tools by participating in the development and implementation of risk management training programs
- Assist in evaluating soundness of BU's committed Risk Treatment Plans (RTP) and recommend sensible options for mitigating the identified risks
- Gathers, measures and analyzes data on operational risk through the operational risk management tools like Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and ensures its accurate and timely reporting, including of operational losses and other risk-related measures.
- Tracks and reports corrective actions done by concerned units (including its closure) related to the resolution of operational risk issues, and ensures relevant databases are updated accordingly
- Maintains related operational risk databases (e.g., risk event database, risk register, fraud incidences, operational and internal control lapses).
- Provides assistance in identifying critical information from different sources and units that should be reported in the appropriate Committee including essential information that needs escalation to the Risk Oversight Committee (ROC).
- Liaises with other units of the Bank (including the subsidiaries) on their operational risk management plans and practices
- Assist in the implementation of the CORMD/RORMD/IORMD’s business continuity plan (BCPlan) as needed, and ensure continuous awareness on BCP program through e-learnings and drills.
- Performs other related functions that may be assigned from time to time
\Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or Statistics.
- Have strong analytical skills with ability to break down problems into doable tasks
- Must be able to drive actionable insights through data analysis
- Experience in R or Python is an advantage
