Position Title: Platform Infrastructure Administrator
Job Summary: Design, evaluates, installs, and administers components and facilities for platform-specific infrastructure. He provides technical support services to personnel in other ITG teams. Plans, prepares, recommends and implements medium-term roadmaps for the enterprise-level infrastructure that he manages.
Role Exposure:
- Installs and administers infrastructure components and facilities. Maintains infrastructure uptime, performance and security at agreed service levels.
- Researches industry developments regarding his assigned infrastructure components, to learn and implement better infrastructure administration practices, understand cost-effective alternatives, and to guard against unplanned obsolescence. Where needed, recommends better and/or more cost-effective replacement infrastructure.
- Provides technical support and consultancy services to personnel in data center operations, applications management, and risk management. Advises applications managers on infrastructure considerations so they can design applications optimally.
- Communicates, and coordinates with infrastructure vendors regarding product updates, fixes, and support requirements.
- Periodically monitors the “health” and performance of his assigned infrastructure components, and regularly reports the status of such to his seniors.
- Performs regular housekeeping on his assigned infrastructure components, e.g. cleanup of unnecessary components, system-level backup, vendor preventive maintenance, etc. as applicable. · Documents the configuration of his assigned infrastructure components, and keeps such documentation updated and secure. · Performs configuration management, change management, availability management, security and patch management. · Performs other functions that may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications
- Solid experience in managing Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux Server (RHEL/OEL) environments.
- Skilled in designing, installing, and maintaining platform-specific infrastructure components.
- Familiarity with Active Directory or LDAP for user and group management is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience handling Linux OS-related tasks, especially in non-production environments.
- Able to adapt to shifting priorities and work requirements.
- Dependable and willing to work beyond regular hours when needed (e.g., during deployments or urgent issues).
- Open to on-call or shifting schedules, including weekends and holidays, depending on project needs.
